Remarks by Pat Loop: "This is the Sirius prototype constructed to Charles Lindbergh's specifications. It was first built with an open cockpit and later changed to a sliding canopy at the suggestion of his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh. These photos depict the acceptance of the aircraft by Lindbergh and takeoff from Burbank for a flight to New York, New York, USA, which set a new record of 14 hours and 45 minutes."
